a quick question

i'm wondering how the magic works here. is everything just some spell that you have to use at the time, or can it be some sort of magical ability, like regeneration, minor control over an element, increased speed, transmutation of materials etc.?

Well it is pretty much a free site so I guess all of the above. This is mainly because my char has a magical ability that he was born with that lets him hear a voice telling him of disaster and things he should do or avoid.

ya Miz is right anything your mind can come up with, as for spells theres a list that EVERYONE can use. but go crazy on cutomizing your abilities ^__^
